Brand Evolution: Aritzia

Aritzia Magazine Issue #2
    Model: Actress Tamzin Merchant
 Photographer: Valerie Phillips
Stylist: Jeanie Annan-Lewin

Dear Aritzia,

I noticed you've been aggressively expanding across North America, including a new massive flag ship store in Manhattan. I also noticed you finally launched an online store, and have even begun publishing your own online magazine. So do tell, when the effffffffffffff are you going to become a public company so I can make a little cash from following your growth so religiously? If there's one thing I could potentially invest in without annoying market speculation overwhelming my own natural confidence and insight it's fashion labels/companies, and in particular Y-O-U. So please just have an IPO already? kthxbye.

Sincerely,

Impatiently Waiting Your Next Move

new year, new love

This editorial is so lovely. Fall/Winter editorials full of classic, interestingly structured clothing are a favorite of mine. The tears are a nice touch too. Note to self: make next model cry

Inspired.

Pino Leone for BAMBI Magazine

I have no clue what photographers do to achieve the lighting they do, but whatever Pino did to achieve this warm glow is BLOWING MY EFFING MIND.

Kate Moss by Steven Klein for W Magazine March 2012

W Magazine March 2012
Model: Kate Moss
Photography: Steven Klein
Styling: Edward Enninful

I have often said Kate Moss could pull off a paper bag. Apparently she can pull off a straight jacket as well. Continue to amaze me Mossy. Continue to amaze me. Side note: could that cross BE any closer to your cash n' prizes? *Cue any photo of Madonna from the 80s*

So you may have thought latex and leather had no place in a convent WELL THINK AGAIN, because clearly they are meant to be. In all seriousness I am blown away by this editorial. The art direction is superb. Enninful and Klein are such visionaries they give me the chills. This almost makes me want to join a nunnery, but then I remember that I don't hate sex. I imagine priests everywhere got boners looking at this. Silly priests and their boners!

Kate Moss Glamour France April, 1992

Glamour France April 1992
Model: Kate Moss
Photography: Lance Staedler
Styling: Joy De Caumonts

This editorial makes me want to watch Clueless and say things like "As if!" and "you da bomb" and "DANG gurl!". It also makes me want to get a serious blow out and wear enormous amounts of pastel. Luckily I don't own anything pastel as pastels are for humiliating bridesmaids and knitting blankies for newborns.
